Soulful Eyes

Some stories are happy.  Some are sad.   Some are silly.  Some  are completely make-believe.  And unfortunately, sometimes, the stories are nothing short of tragic.  So it is with this young boy with the deep, soulful eyes.

As I worked to uncover and brighten his young face, I kept wanting to rescue him.  To make it better. 

But I can't.  His story is from many years ago and his life now rests in the arms of Jesus.  Thankfully, in His care, no more pain or heartache can exist.  Thankfully, with Him, these young eyes are beholding His glory.

And hopefully, this photograph, restored and returned to his big brother (as a surprise birthday gift) will also restore some light in their memories of this young boy....the boy with the deep, soulful eyes.
